SHOPPING BAG WITH HANDLES

BY NEXT WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2ND, WE WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO SEND IN WITH YOUR CHILD A LARGE SHOPPING BAG WITH HANDLES. YOUR CHILD WILL BE USING IT TO CARRY HOME MANY, MANY PRE-K ITEMS! PLEASE PUT YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON THE BAG. THANKS!

HIKING WITH BUDDIES

Yesterday, Pre-K "A" students, along with their 2nd grade buddies, took off for a hike in the woods. Throughout the hike, the students were recording items they saw in nature. The goal was to try and find one nature item for each letter of the alphabet.

READING WITH BUDDIES

We went outside with our buddies for some reading. Pre-K children read their "Book In A Bag" from this week to their 2nd grade buddies. Then, 2nd grade buddies read to their Pre-K buddies.

GOTTA GO! GOTTA GO!

Today we read the book, "Gotta Go" Gotta Go!, which is a story about a butterfly migrating to Mexico. We discussed why butterflies migrate and what they do when they're in Mexico. We also discussed what the butterflies do when they wake up from their hibernation in the Spring.

BYE BYE, BUTTERFLIES!

At the end of our morning, we released our butterflies! We said our goodbyes and then watched as they flew out of their "first home".

SPRAY PAINTING AND BUBBLES!

Today we added a spray painting activity and a bubble activity to our outdoor Free Choice time.

SUN PRINTS

We had the perfect day for making sun prints outside! We used special paper and various nature and classroom objects for this activity.
Children placed objects on top of a piece of special paper; left it in the sun for 2 minutes; came back and removed the objects and.......

OUR NEWEST ADDITIONS!

SURPRISE!! When we arrived at school this morning, there were 3 butterflies waiting for us in our "butterfly garden". The children were VERY excited to see Andrew, Hattie, and Zach as butterflies. Ask your child why there are oranges in the butterfly garden!
